Have you been charged with a drug related offence and need the assistance of a drug litigation lawyer? If you have been charged with possession, distribution, cultivation, or the manufacture of controlled substances, you will face a multitude of significant charges. The different charges or offences carry just as many penalties. Even a minute amount of a controlled substance can bring you more trouble than you might consider. Different penalties expressly apply for different controlled substances, as for varying amounts of substance. You do not even have to do anything wrong or suspicious to bring the rule of law down on you. Random roadblocks and road spot checks designed to catch drunk drivers or even a routine traffic stop can start a series of unfortunate events that only a drug litigation lawyer can navigate. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) defines and assigns schedules from, I to V to controlled substances.
